A warm welcome to Show Me The Concept 2026 (SMTC)!
Event: Show Me The Concept 2026
Date: 9 & 10 March 2026
Location: Firda Horeca & Hospitality, Julianalaan 97, 8931 AH Leeuwarden
SMTC 2026 will host 13 European teams, each consisting of 3 students and 1–2 supervisors.
The concepts will be evaluated by a professional jury, including top chef Jan Smink as ambassador and jury member, based on creativity, feasibility, sustainability, and guest experience.
Program:
Sunday 8 March – Arrival
- Informal, optional get-together (at your own expense) at 7:00 PM at Brasserie De Spiegelaar (Nieuwstad 141, 8911 CR Leeuwarden)
- Overnight stay at Notiz Hotel (NHL Stenden), check-in available from 2:00 PM
Monday 9 March – Opening & Concept Development
- Reception and welcome by Sicco Piekeboer, Managing Director of Firda Leeuwarden
- General opening, explanation of competition rules and assessment criteria
- Inspirational session by Jan Smink
- Tour of Firda Horeca & Hospitality
- Start of concept development and brainstorming
- Workshop Concept Development for supervisors (NHL Stenden)
- Networking dinner at Restaurant LEF, Firda Leeuwarden
Tuesday 10 March – Competition & Final
- Preparation and execution of the competition
- Market featuring regional and sustainable products
- Concept presentations on stage in the Atrium
- Final, award ceremony, and certificates during the gala dinner at
Restaurant Wannee (NHL Stenden)
